Sildajazz ‘08

Attended the Herbie Hancock concert last night. Good concert and even though i’m not a jazz fan as such, it was an impressive show.  Saturday its Hiromi Sonic Bloom on the program, and i guess that will be good too :)

Roadtrip ‘08

Just returned from a small “European roadtrip”, with Gatebil at Rudskogen and driving a few laps of the Nurburgring Nordschleife as the main goals with the trip. My Toyota Celica felt a bit guttless on both the German Autobahn and The Ring, but never the less i managed 200km/h on the speedo on the unrestricted autobahn with a few hundred rpm to go to the redline in 5th gear :p The revlimiter i found to be at 7000rpm’ish during one of the laps at the ring. All in all, my car got a real workout through 5 days of driving on the autobahn and on the ring. Drove over 3000km in the space of a week.

Took a few pics from both Gatebil and Nurburgring, and they can be seen clicking on the image to the left. One of my mates that where on the trip had a project making a videoblog with his macbook during the trip. Hope we get to see his work, as i think there could be some funny stuff there :) Also made a small video that can be downloaded here: nurburg08.wmv

iRacing

Well… it’s finaly arrived, the long awaited iRacing. Got my invite last night, and have just managed try a few sessions and buying a few cars :p

First impressions are good, although, the web interface could probably be a bit smoother. The driving feels pretty good, and i guess thats whats matters anyway. The sound and gfx are both very neat, and my computer can (atleast when i’m alone on the track) show it in full details with a good framerate. Anyway, will probably write more about iRacing later on, when i get more acustomed to the interface and cars, and get more miles under my belt.

Monaco Grand Prix ‘08

Attended the Monaco GP last weekend, with Cannes as the base for the long weekend trip.

Thursday was sunny and warm, with f1, porsche supercup and GP2 action on track. Seating was on the X2 tribune opposite the old pits on the start/finish streight. Pretty good seating, close to the cars.

Saturday the location was on the T2 tribune, opposite the new pits, just over the ferrari pits. The weather was a bit grey, and some raindrops where falling. There where f1 practice and qualifying, and GP2 and Renault 3.5l races and qualifying.

Sunday was the porsche supercup race, the Renault formula 3.5l race and of course, the F1 race. The seating for the day was at the K6 tribune, just before the swimmingpool. The day started with rain, but during the Renault race, the weather cleared up a bit, only to rain at the start of the F1 race. That made for an interesting race, with a drying track and difficult tyer choices.

Did get to see Rosbergs accident, but wasn’t ready with the camera to get some action filled pics, but i did get to take lots of pics though, and i put them on photobucket for faster service… They can be seen here: http://s307.photobucket.com/albums/nn285/mahelgel/atlasf1%20stuff/monaco%20GP/
